As you may know, I have a monthly newsletter where I share my thoughts in a love note to my subscribers, as well as ọlọrọ interiors updates, news, tips & tricks. June’s love note resonated deeply with so many of my followers that I wanted to share it here as well.

Each note starts with a greeting from wherever I am at the time and it goes a little something like so…

Hello from the Bronx:

It’s a chilly morning in the Northeast.
Following days of rain and fluctuations in temperature, this Memorial Day weekend is one I’ll likely spend indoors. And I’m happy about it. Chilly weather is my jam.

At this very moment, I’m laying in the bed alongside my baby sister who’s recovering from surgery. She snores ever so slightly and today I’m content with her nose chorus. I’m just happy she’s ok post a gallbladder that had been bothersome for some time.

Mommy will be making soup this afternoon and between her cooking, the laughter of my sisters and being in the house I grew up in - it all brings a deep feeling of gratitude. As a family, we’re also in the process of dealing with grief. My godfather and my mother’s favorite cousin recently received a terminal diagnosis and doesn’t have long in this realm.

The intersection of joy and pain is the crossroad I currently find myself at. It’s an interesting place. I suspect you’ve been to that place too. I’m curious to know how you manage. Be sure to hit that reply button and let me know.

In this issue we’ve included the official press release for my upcoming art sale as well as some tea on my first Showhouse appearance. I read recently that we should “learn the game and share our notes”. My hope is that the tips I shared will help those preparing for their first Showhouse.

Have a wonderful June lovers!
Chanae

P.S. In two weeks, my friend releases her book …a book that I’m in. Be sure to get a copy!
